What Is Kybella?
Kybella is an innovative, non-surgical treatment that specially targets excess fat beneath the chin to improve appearance and profile. This latest and exciting cosmetic procedure is FDA approved and is a less invasive alternative to fat removal procedures such as liposuction.
How Does Kybella Work?
The active ingredient of Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally found substance in the human digestive system, which works by emulsifying fat cells. This allows for easier digestion and metabolization of these fat cells.
Kybella works by specifically targeting the fat cells beneath the chin through careful injection and precision placement. As the fat cells are destroyed gradually, the body removes the damaged cells from the targeted area. This will allow for better contour and shape in the facial profile that is long-lasting.
What Does Kybella Treat?
Kybella is a safe and effective treatment that is FDA approved for excess fat beneath the chin or medically known as submental fullness.
What Is The Treatment Process?
The provider will assess the shape and profile of each patient with detail and care. Using an ultra fine needle, the provider may make 10-50 injections dependent per patient with minimal to no discomfort. This allows for a more even distribution when the fat is being destroyed which allows submental fullness to gradually decrease without being misshapen.This treatment can take about 20 minutes to complete.
How Long Is The Downtime?
Patients may return to normal activities the following day. Some side effects may include swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area. Occasionally, symptoms may last up to one to two week after the procedure.
How Long Will The Results Last For?
Results vary per patient and multiple treatments may be needed to reach optimal results. Patients can receive up to six Kybella treatments, with at least one month between each session.
