FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY DICTIONARY
Tension areas\ ˈten(t)-shən ˈer-ē-əs \ |
The soft tissue areas in a nose work via a tension (pulling) system with the septal cartilage. This system helps to maintain the shape and airflow through the nasal cavity. If there is too much tension in certain areas after a rhinoplasty, there is a higher risk of extrusion.
