Tarsal plate\ ˈtär-səl ˈplāt \ |
Area of thick fibrous tissue found in both the upper and lower eyelid. Function is to keep support the shape and appearance of eyelids. Each one is approximately 29mm long and 1mm thick. The superior tarsus (the tarsal plate of the upper eyelid) is larger than the inferior tarsus.
